Commotion has expertise in interactive design, technology, and the development of content and systems. Our projects create rich environments for people to explore information, experience light, sound, video and text, and interact in compelling and involving ways.

In addition to his consulting work, founder Philip van Allen conducts research on new forms of interaction and new interaction technologies through his work with Art Center's Media Design Program. Current interests include large multi-touch tables, new interactions between objects & screens, interactive lighting, multi-channel sound, and the design of interactive behaviors.
