Philip van Allen founded Commotion
in 1993. Clients have included George P. Johnson, Acura, Infiniti, Launch Media/Yahoo, Moto Development, Philips, U2, the Huntington Library, and
Paul Allen company Interval Research. Collaborations include works
with artists Yoko Ono and Kim Abeles. Philip also teaches interactive design
in the graduate Media Design
Program at Art Center College of Design.
His current projects focus on interactive installations, sound/music, physical interfaces, and
The New Ecology of Things.
Recent projects include the Infiniti Interactive Mirror, the Acura Oracle, as well as research into new ways of exploring complex information in a physical environment with sensors, projections, screens, and audio.
